Kenter Attendance Update
Please click here for the most recent loss of revenue report. Kenter Canyon's attendance continues to be above the District average among its schools. Students with perfect attendance will be recognized on the 125 day of school as they were on the 100th day of school.   Students with Perfect Attendance for the year will receive a sports ball on the final day of school.   The six days of the work stoppage will be extracted from consideration when honoring students with perfect attendance.   If a student was present for 174 days of school outside of the work stoppage days, they will also be honored for Perfect Attendance.   The absences noted on your March 1 Progress Report will reflect the absence for the work stoppage; however, they will not be considered for the purpose of our school's Perfect Attendance criteria.
Revolution Math free trial
For many of our children, struggling or receiving a poor grade on a math test can be devastating. They interpret the results to mean that they “just are not a math kid”. This label- imposed by oneself or others – can be detrimental (as well as inaccurate). Learn to use the Growth Mindset to help students see their skills as adaptable and to help your child build a positive relationship with math. Sign Up For Your Free Month Trial of Revolution Math --- Go to Revolutionmath.com and use the code Kenter18 Kids use a Growth Mindset to build the math skills, love of math and willingness to take on challenge. Kids join from an iPad or computer and work with a live, online teacher and up to three other students after school, an hour/week. Aligned with Kenter Canyon’s Math Curriculum!

New Parent Guide 2018-2019
The New Parent Guide is here.
Welcome to Kenter Canyon!
A message from Dr. Terry L. Moren, Principal

Kenter Canyon School is delighted to have you join our community and become an integral part of your child’s education.  Kenter Canyon offers a unique experience to its students because of the collaboration  between its dedicated staff and the incredible involvement of its parents.  The parent is the child’s first teacher and plays an integral part of their child’s learning process.  I believe we must work together to ensure a safe and positive learning environment that teaches children how to be safe, respectful, and responsible citizens, as well as thinkers, discoverers, and inquirers. Together, we will continue to make a difference in the lives of the children at Kenter.  I hope that you will become involved in your child’s classroom as well as the parent involvement opportunities afforded through our Parent Support Group (PSG), Governance Council, School Site Council, and school activities.  We need volunteers to help with classroom activities, school-wide functions, traffic safety, special projects, enrichment activities, field trip supervision and committee work.  Look for periodical announcements inviting you to TwT “Tea with Terry” socials----“TwT is an opportunity to join me for an informal chat about Kenter Canyon.  Together, we will make a positive difference in the lives of children. We need parents to help us be involved in solutions, not just reporting problems.  Together, we can make ordinary things extraordinary. (more…)
