2nd ANNUAL Quinn’s Cocoa for the Cure
Quinn Pruitt is an eight year old second grader at our school who last year with your help, raised $40,000 to donate to the Angelman Syndrome Foundation to help find a cure for his twin sister Emma, who is also a second grader at Kenter. Hot cocoa, baked goods, and Quinn’s Cocoa for the Cure merchandise will be on sale at this amazing event which will take place on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. -3:00p.m. at Vicente Market (right down the street from Kenter). Please mark your calendars!
There is a collection box in the Main Office for those who may not be able to attend but wish to donate to the cause or to buy Quinn's Cocoa for the Cure merchandise. All proceeds will go to the Angelman Syndrome Foundation and donations are tax deductible.  To donate online, click here

Spring Production – Disney’s The Aristocats KIDS!
Based on the beloved Disney animated film, and featuring a jazzy, upbeat score, Disney’s The Aristocats KIDS is a non-stop thrill ride of feline fun, complete with unbelievable twists and turns. Talent Show Picture Sales
For the first time ever a professional photographer will take action shots of Kenter kids on stage during the talent show. They will be for sale from Monday February 25th until Saturday March 10th with all money raised going back to Kenter Canyon. KIDS Driver Safety Poster Contest
Kenter Canyon School looks forward to the creativity from its students as it kicks off K.I.D.S. Driver Safety Campaign 2018. The 2017 contest generated lots of creative entries. Let's encourage our students to use their art skills they've learned from Miss Deborah and submit a safety poster about driver safety. See this flyer for more information.
Coyote Spirit Wear
If you didn't have a chance to order Spirit Wear last semester, now's your chance. Show your school spirit and purchase Spirit Wear while supplies last. Please note that certain colors/sizes are sold out which is reflected on the order form. It’s cool, it’s fun, comfortable, good quality and it’s another way to support our wonderful school! All proceeds for Spirit Wear go directly to the school.
Million Word Reading Challenge
Kenter Canyon is kicking off its annual Million Word Reading Challenge.  Students are encouraged to read each day and record their reading on the attached reading log. Here are some reading tips. Families may copy the log as many times as necessary. Additional logs are available in the office or can be downloaded here.  On May 4, the Reading Logs will be due.  Highest level readers at each grade level will win prizes at the May 29 Awards Assembly.  Turn in all Reading Logs to the Kenter Library on May 4.   We look forward to Kenter kids surpassing last year's reading goals.
Battle of the Ants!
Match wits against your fellow Kenter students in this programming contest.  Students will program controllers for virtual ants that will compete against other ant colonies for food on a playing field.  Students may work on their own, or in teams.  Students have the option to sign up for an afterschool class to help learn the programming environment for this contest – or they can learn independently on their own.  For more details, including an introductory video and programming guide, please see: http://kentercanyon.org/battle-of-the-ants/

Utilities Critical Repairs Project Community Meeting

A message from Dr. Terry L. Moren, Principal

Kenter Canyon School is delighted to have you join our community and become an integral part of your child’s education.  Kenter Canyon offers a unique experience to its students because of the collaboration  between its dedicated staff and the incredible involvement of its parents.  The parent is the child’s first teacher and plays an integral part of their child’s learning process.  I believe we must work together to ensure a safe and positive learning environment that teaches children how to be safe, respectful, and responsible citizens, as well as thinkers, discoverers, and inquirers. Together, we will continue to make a difference in the lives of the children at Kenter.  I hope that you will become involved in your child’s classroom as well as the parent involvement opportunities afforded through our Parent Support Group (PSG), Governance Council, School Site Council, and school activities.  We need volunteers to help with classroom activities, school-wide functions, traffic safety, special projects, enrichment activities, field trip supervision and committee work.  Look for periodical announcements inviting you to TwT “Tea with Terry” socials----“TwT is an opportunity to join me for an informal chat about Kenter Canyon.  Together, we will make a positive difference in the lives of children.
