FAMILY FESTIVAL GREEN BOOTH

At Kenter's Family Festival in June, our Social Responsibility / Environmental Committee had a GREEN BOOTH. Parents were able to take composting lessons alongside their children who played our eco-game. All were given free usable bags and other cool green giveaways.

Our raffle -- with prizes such as a Whole Foods Gift Certificate, reusable water bottles, and other environmentally friendly items was a big hit! Each child who entered was asked to write their own "green tip," along with their name and age (or grade) on an index

card for the drawing. Here's some of their unedited green tips, as spelled on their entries:

"Have old tanktops? Sew the bottom together and taadaa! You have a grocery bag."
Katie S. - age 12

"Turn off a light for one minute."
Kala F. - age 7

"Make a specific amount of electricity a person can use."
Atossa R. - 4th grade

"An air car that runs on compressed air."
Lilly T. - age 13

"When you wash your car turn off the water."
Eric H. - age 10

"Use salt water for your pool because there is more salt water in the world then cloren."
Natalie N. - age 11

"Take shorter showers"
Elisa F. - age 12

"Ride a bike to school. It saves gas and doesn't give pollution."
Leilana M. - age 8

"To help the earth we can stop smoking and recycle things."
Kelsey T. - age 7

"I think all of the countries leaders should get together and think of better ways to save energy & water."
Sanar M. - age 13

Check back in the fall for more of our kids' -- green pearls of wisdom!
